The City of Milton is looking for a highly qualified individual to serve as the part-time Parks & Recreation Specialist. The Recreation Specialist is an integral member of the team who will be responsible for overseeing administrative inventories/programs and assisting other Parks & Recreation staff.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Assists customers by answering questions, providing support, and assisting as necessary (in-person, on the phone, and via email)
• Maintains the Parks & Recreation Department GIS inventory
• Assists the Community Outreach Manager with the execution of community events including planning and day of coordination
• Ensures the park security camera system is fully operational
• Conducts routine parks and greenspace safety inspections 
• Coordinates facility maintenance and repairs as needed
• Occasional park supervision during scheduled recreational activities – occasional nights and weekends
• Responsible for aiding the Director with obtaining required quotes and requisitions for services rendered
• Support the Recreation Coordinator with maintaining the department-wide performance metrics and standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Assist Parks & Recreation staff as needed to carry out daily operations
• Other duties/tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualification:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in Parks/Recreation, Public Administration, Sports Management or a related field is preferred but not required
• One (1) year of experience in a government parks and recreation setting is preferred
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above stated responsibilities
• Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) preferred but not required
• Satisfactory motor vehicle record and the ability to attain/provide a valid State driver’s license

Annual Pay Rate:

• $18-$20 per hour
