Requires completion of course work equivalent to the academic requirements of a Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation administration, program management, business/public administration, or a related field.
Ten (10) years of experience in local government parks and recreation, including four (4) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience as a parks and recreation director, assistant parks and recreation director, or senior level manager within the field of parks and recreation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above may be considered.
Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) Certification is preferred. National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Accreditation and/or the completion of the NRPA Directors School is a plus.
Must be able to pass a criminal background.
Must be able to work evenings,, weekends and/or holidays as required.
No felony convictions, or crimes against children within the prior ten (10) years or while employed in the position.
Requires a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
