City of Royston
The City of Royston is seeking applications/resumes for a Finance Officer. This position works under the direction of the City Manager, performs a variety of professional level accounting duties in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports: assists in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and month/year-end closing. This position also may include additional duties and the appointment of City Clerk; and such other and further duties as maybe assigned from time to time. Ideal candidate would have Governmental accounting experience, accounting processes that include general ledger, transfers and adjustments, and asset systems according to GAAP and GASB. Candidate would have a vast knowledge of preparing accounting spreadsheets, and understanding of State and Federal Grants, in addition, will have the ability to work cooperatively with City officials, staff, customers, and outside agencies.
-Applicant must have a Bachelor or Master’s degree. Accounting or finance preferred. Exposure to Governmental Accounting a plus.
-Two years of increasingly responsible accounting experience in budget management and formulation, with policy and procedure development and implementation.
-Possession of a valid GA Class C driver’s license
-Willingness to obtain the Certified Municipal Clerk certification and Finance Officer certification.
