Stephens County Board of Commissioners is seeking to fill the position of County Clerk. This position reports to the County Administrator.
The person in this position provides administrative support to the County Administrator and the Board of Commissioners for the day-to-day government operations of Stephens County. Duties include but are not limited to; preparing meeting agendas, information packets, attending meetings, workshops and other activities, composing, indexing and recording minutes of meetings for historical account, informs news media and the public of meetings. Also, serves as custodian of the county records, maintains vehicle insurance information, and coordinates schedules and travel arrangements and other support as necessary. This position is also responsible for issuing building permits and planning commission meetings.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Education should be supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in business administration, public administration, secretarial science, or records management; supplemented by six (6) year previous experience and/or training that includes municipal office operations, records management, office administration, public interaction, and personal computer operations; and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Must possess and maintain valid Certified County Clerk certification or be able to complete the certification process within two (2) years of appointment. Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.
