FINANCE DIRECTOR

Stephens County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Finance Director.

The position is responsible for directing, coordinating and conducting the county’s financial operations.  Major duties include supervising, directing and evaluating assigned staff ; interprets, applies and ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, regulations, standards and policies; prepares financial reports and communicates those results to the County Administrator, Board of Commissioners, and all other officials; analyzes financial data and makes recommendations; attends meetings of the Board of Commissioners; prepares the annual operating budget; develops, updates and implements financial policies; prepares audit schedules and annual reports.

Minimum qualifications includes a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field supplemented by a minimum of fi ve years of experience that includes progressively responsible financial management, governmental accounting, general accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and supervision.  Must have the ability to use computer software and email effectively.  Experience with Edmunds financial software a plus.
