he Code Enforcement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field personnel.  Duties include completing evaluations, performance management, and ensuring departmental activities and goals are achieved.  Must have ability to manage and prioritize daily work assignments. The Code Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcement of the County’s Unified Development Ordinance, Property Maintenance Ordinance, Sign Ordinance, and Occupational Tax Ordinance.  The Code Enforcement Division consists of a division director, manager, three administrative support staff, and five units inclusive of one supervisor and five Code Enforcement Officers.
 
Essential duties:

  • Supervising staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained and follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe work environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Assisting staff with interpreting and applying applicable codes, laws, rules, and regulations
  • Participates in the selection and training of personnel; assumes responsibility for motivating and evaluating assigned personnel; provides necessary training; and initiates discipline procedures as is appropriate.
  • May participate in organizational and community group meetings; address and respond to service questions, inquiries, and complaints; establish and maintain a customer service orientation within the code enforcement division.
  • Develops reports detailing code enforcement activities, production, complaints, and investigation results.
  • Prepares and presents cases in the Environmental Division of Recorders Court by testifying as to facts ascertained by staff and self during investigations.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
