 As a Strategic Planner of the City of Warner Robins (CWR), your primary responsibility will be to develop and direct the strategic and long- range goals of the municipality. The selected applicant will become an integral part of a team that provides development, strategic planning, and project management expertise to the office of the Mayor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the key value drivers and will support core objectives to achieve sustainable growth through the development and execution of innovative business strategies. Collaborates with leadership to develop long-range strategic goals for the municipality. Assess the municipality’s operational and strategic performance. Align processes, resources – planning and department goals with overall strategy. Provide support and insight into significant organizational changes (e.g. shift in strategic focus, mergers and acquisitions). Construct forecasts and analyze models. Monitors the municipal climate, trends in technology and development, and collaborative government activity. Leads trials concerning new initiatives, pilot programs, and regional collaborative goals; based on results; makes, recommends, and implements adjustments and modifications. Serves as negotiator as needed by leadership with third parties for potential achievements. Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, English/Professional Writing and Editing, Marketing, or Industry related field required; Master’s degree highly preferred. Prior training/experience in economic Development. Prior training/certification in Municipal revenue Administration. Prior training/experience in Planning and Zoning. Experience working with local or state development authorities. At least five years of training or experience in leadership. At least five years of experience in municipal government or acting as a consultant on major strategic planning projects required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of business administration, management, and business forecasting strategies and techniques. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft office or related software.
