IF APPLYING ONLINE, UPLOAD PICTURES OF YOUR LICENSE AND DIPLOMA. This position participates in the work of an assigned fire company in responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.  Guidelines include department standard operating procedures, city ordinances, NFPA recommended standards, local, state and federal laws.  These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.  The work consists of related emergency response, fire suppression and fire prevention duties.  Respond to fire, medical and other emergency calls for service.  Perform activities to suppress and extinguish fires.  Extricate individuals from dangerous and hazardous situations.  Assess emergency medical needs and provide treatment.  Clean and maintain fire station buildings, grounds, apparatus and equipment.  Attend and participate in company drills and training.  Participate in physical fitness training.  Perform hose and pump tests.  Test fire hydrants.  Maintain knowledge of city streets and geography.  Perform related duties.  

Qualifications

Minimum age to apply is 18 years of age. Applicant must be 18 years of age and submit a high school diploma or equivalency document by February 03, 2023. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent. No experience requirements. Possession of a valid Georgia Driver’s License. Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act. Knowledge of computers and job related software programs. Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports. Skill in oral and written communication. Hiring process to include: Physical Fitness Test, Physical Agility Test, Entrance Lab, Background Investigation, Oral Board Interview, Physical Examination, Drug and Alcohol Screening.
