Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating kitchen duties, serving food to Senior Center congregate clients, and packaging Meals on Wheels.

Major Duties:

• Keeps kitchen cleaned and disinfected.
• Comply with all governmental compliance guidelines and county rules and regulations.
• Ensure equipment is operational (ice machine, refrigerator, freezers, warmer and steam table) if issues are observed it is reported to maintenance.
• Maintain ice machine cleaning schedule, completes monthly checks to ensure compliance. Schedules filter change overs for every 6 months.
• Track and record temperatures on incoming food from food vendor.
• Monitor for pests’ observations in or near the kitchen area, file reports weekly on findings.
• Sorts, cleans, sanitizes, and stores all kitchen equipment.
• Helps to prepare trays for meals on wheels clients, prepares ice chest, assist with congregate meal servicing and cleanup. Prepare silverware and kitchen area for the next day setup.
• Prepares Meals on Wheels charts and logs for volunteers with clear instructions on updates and news.
• Ensure each Meals on Wheels client is verified to have all items on the route sheet.
• Identifies from the logs the pet food needs for each client on the route and ensures pet food is including in the instructions.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• ServSafe Certification a plus.

The successful candidate must pass a Background/Reference Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
