The purpose of this classification is to coordinate and manage employee benefits, wellness, and compensation programs.
Responsibilities
Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
Administers employee savings plans that may include the County’s 457 plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs.
Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
Researches and compares incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organizations plans competitive and effective.
Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
Completes records, reporting surveys, and other documentation.
Performs job analysis and job evaluations.
Monitors administrators and insurance carriers reports to ensure the organizations compliance with legal and plan requirements.
Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
Administers all wellness programs in the organization.
Promotes wellness and fitness initiatives in the organization; answers questions and collects feedback from participants.
Designs, plans, and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and voluntary fitness assessments to promote healthy lifestyles.
Assists employees with personal concerns and assessments; provides recommendations and referrals for counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment.
Drafts and maintains accurate, confidential records and reports as required to track and assess employee participation, program incentives, costs, and benefits to the company.
Drafts reports and proposals for wellness initiatives and action plans (including cost-benefit analysis) for presentation to upper management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health Education, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience administering benefits,wellness or total compensation programs.
Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge and skills needed for this job.
