Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring a fun and safe environment while coordinating a variety of activities in the summer camp program by directing and supervising staff and large groups of children ages 5-12.

Major Duties:

• Responsible for the management and supervision of Camp Twisters including daily camp operations and activities.
• Manage and supervise camp staff including weekly and daily schedules, timesheets, job performance and issues.
• Handles medical, safety and severe weather emergencies per the procedures established by Habersham County Gymnastics
• Plans weekly camp activities.
• Communicate with parents about information to do with campers and activities.
• Lead staff in-service training and staff meetings
• Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for two years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Possession of or ability to pass the training course for certification in American Red Cross CPR and Standard First Aid.
• Possession of or ability to pass the training course for certification in Darkness to Light Stewards of Children.

The successful candidate must pass a Background/Reference Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
