Municipal Court Clerk
This position performs complex, specialized clerical duties in support of the Municipal Court including court documents, processing and maintenance of legal documents, and is responsible for all court proceedings including arraignments, trials and all court sessions. Works with the City Manager in developing the annual departmental budget; monitors expenditures throughout the year; operates the department within the approved budget and ensures expenditures are made in strict compliance with City purchasing policies and ordinances.This position prepares all court dockets, arranges for Judge, Solicitors, Court-appointed Attorneys, Interpreters, bonds, and all cases being bound over to the Superior Court of Bartow County.
Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License, high school diploma or equivalent GED, two years municipal court or law enforcement records experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include being able to speak, write and understand English, capable of problem solving, and able to manage multiple duties. Full job description available upon request.
This position requires court background check, GCIC certification and ongoing education as required by the State of Georgia and the City of Emerson. Drug test and background check will be performed upon employment.
Starting salary is $40,000 - $55,000 dependent upon experience.
