REPORTS TO: Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
CLASSIFICATION: Personnel System - Requires satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period.
PAY GRADE: 112 $39,129 Annually

SAFETY SENSITIVE: CDL - (depending on area of assignment) - Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance.
 

Purpose of Job  

The purpose of this job is to perform mechanical/specialty work functions associated with the operation and maintenance of water reclamation systems, maintenance and repair of water treatment plant systems, electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining records, repairing, maintaining and operating pumps, wells and motors; performing preventive maintenance and manual work activities; performing carpentry, welding, plumbing and concrete finishing tasks; and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Job Related Requirements 

WORK SCHEDULE:  Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, on call weekends, holidays and emergency call-ins, also OT possible during the week. 
 

May be required to work on religious holidays.
 

Regular and predictable attendance is required.
 

Must work cooperatively with others.
 

When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy. 

 

Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

High school diploma or equivalent, with one or more years of experience in Mechanics, Pump Maintenance, Water Reclamation Systems, water treatment systems maintenance, wastewater systems maintenance, mechanical operations/maintenance or related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. 
 

Must possess a valid driver's license. 
 

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Georgia Commercial Driver's License within one year of date of hire, depending on area of assignment.
