Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Performs general, preventative, and supportive maintenance involved in painting wall and ceiling surfaces and structures within the university. Assists technicians, and/or plumbers on emergency and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs general painting needs for University
2. Prepares paint surfaces by washing and patching holes
3. Mixes, matches and applies paint to walls, trims, rails, etc.
4. Assists other technicians on emergency and corrective maintenance
5. Maintains a clean and safe work environment
6. Performs work in extreme temperatures and heights and may operate heavy machinery and electrical equipment

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license

Required Experience
Five (5) years of work experience related to the role

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $19.17 to $22.36 per hour.  Offers are based on relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Able to patch, repair holes and paint on all types of wall and ceiling surfaces  

Able to use appropriate tools (i.e. brushes, sprayers, rollers caulking guns, etc.) for painting  

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines  

Must be able to work day shift, night shift or weekend schedules

KNOWLEDGE
Solid knowledge of commercial and/or residential painting techniques 

SKILLS
Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffoldings, aerial lifts and ladders  

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills  

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) 

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills  

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
