Listing Summary

Under general direction of the Traffic Operations Manager, performs technical work in support of the City’s Traffic unit including construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of the City’s municipal traffic signal system; traffic signage, access control and management, roadside control, pedestrian facilities, on-street parking and assistance to contractors, developers, engineers, and the general public on the City’s traffic services and activities; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job qualifies.

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by course work in traffic engineering, civil engineering, or related field. 
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the study and evaluation, or installation, maintenance, and repair of electric and electronic traffic control devices.
• The education and work experience described above, under Minimum Qualifications, may be replaced by 8 years of previous work experience in traffic engineering and services field. 
• Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver's license.
