This is a full-time position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees. The work schedule is 40 hours per week and hours may vary to include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
Summary: The Recreation Program Coordinator coordinates various youth and adult athletic programs including youth football, youth baseball, aquatics operations, and programs. The coordinator will assist with other community education programs, special events, and other activities as the need arises; and will train, coordinate, and participate in the work of staff responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks such as lifeguarding, pool operation, grounds, gardening, turf maintenance, and park maintenance duties at designated County parks.
Essential Job Functions:
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Recreation Administration or closely related field supplemented by two (2) years of previous experience and/or training involving recreation program administration, aquatics program administration, athletic program administration, and/or athletic field maintenance, supplemented by experience involving program coordination and supervision; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Software.
Special Requirements: Valid Driver's License is required. Must possess and maintain valid American Red Cross Certification in First Aid and CPR (or must attain within the first six (6) months of employment) and Certified Lifeguard for the Professional Rescuer Certifications, American Red Cross Life Guard Instructor Training, Water Safety Instructor, American Red Cross Babysitting Instructor Training, Certified Pool and Spa Operator Certification, and or Aquatics Facility Operator training required (or must attain within the first six (6) months of employment).
